CLIMATE ACTION PLAN

Flexworks HR® Consulting Ltd is committed to playing an active role in tackling the climate crisis. As a certified B Corporation™, we recognise our responsibility to reduce our environmental impact and align our business with a 1.5°C future.


We commit to:

  • Achieving net‑zero emissions by 2040.
  • Reducing emissions in line with science‑based pathways.
  • Measuring and reporting our carbon footprint annually. 
  • Publishing transparent updates on our progress.
  • Embedding climate responsibility into our governance, procurement, and decision‑making.


This plan outlines how we will achieve these commitments as a remote‑first, sole‑director business with no employees and minimal physical footprint.


About Flexworks HR® Consulting Ltd


As a micro‑business with no employees, our emissions profile is simple and primarily driven by:

  • Home office energy use.
  • Business travel (only when required).
  • Digital tools and cloud services.
  • Purchased goods and professional services.


This structure gives us a unique opportunity to operate with a very low carbon footprint and to model sustainable working practices for our clients.


Emissions measurement and baseline


We will establish an emissions baseline in line with our 2025/2026 financial year using the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol. In line with the updated B Corp standards, we will measure and report emissions across:


Scope 1: Direct emissions.


Scope 2: Purchased electricity for the home office.


Scope 3:

  • Home‑working emissions.
  • Business travel.
  • Digital tools and cloud services.
  • Purchased goods and services.


We will publish our emissions annually and use this data to track progress against our targets.


Targets


Our targets align with a 1.5°C pathway and reflect the rapid reductions needed this decade.


By 2030

  • Reduce total emissions by 50% from the 2025/2026 baseline.
  • Continue to source 100% renewable electricity for the home office.
  • Reduce business travel emissions by 40%.
  • Embed climate considerations into all business and procurement decisions.


By 2035

  • Reduce total emissions by 80% from the 2025/2026 baseline.
  • Ensure suppliers representing >80% of spend have environmental commitments.


By 2040

  • Achieve net‑zero, using high‑quality carbon removals only for unavoidable residual emissions.


Governance


Climate responsibility sits with Laura Majewski, the Director of Flexworks HR® Consulting Ltd, who oversees:


  • Annual emissions measurement.
  • Progress against targets.
  • Supplier engagement.
  • Public reporting.
  • Integration of climate considerations into annual business planning and decision making.


Progress will be reviewed annually and published on the Flexworks HR® website.


Stakeholder engagement


We will engage key stakeholders in our climate journey:

  • Clients: Integrating sustainability into services provided.
  • Suppliers: Encouraging environmental commitments and transparency.
  • Community and professional networks: Sharing knowledge and advocating for sustainable working practices.

  • Virtual-first delivery model.
  • Sustainable procurement.
  • Low-carbon digital tools and unnecessary cloud storage reduction.
  • Waste minimisation and circular practices.
