The Flexworks HR® Better Business Code

As a certified B Corporation™, we are committed to operating with integrity, purpose, and accountability, and to making decisions that create positive impact for people, organisations, and the wider world. We take responsible business seriously, are accredited with the Good Business Charter, and we proudly support the Better Business Act.

This Code sets out the standards and values that guide our work. The following values run through everything that is done at Flexworks HR®:

Authenticity

Personable, honest, open, and straight talking.

Creating a trusted working relationship where you can feel confident sharing your biggest concerns without judgment.

Flexibility

In how we work together, and in how we support you to manage your people, recognising that one size never fits all.

Freedom

To do things differently with a fresh perspective and empowering you to do things differently in ways that work for your people and your business.

Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI)

We are committed to advancing JEDI in every aspect of our work. As a certified B Corporation™, we recognise that creating fair, inclusive, and equitable workplaces is essential to building a better world. These principles guide how we operate, how we support our clients, and how we contribute to positive change in the wider business community.

Our Principles

Justice: We challenge systems, practices, and behaviours that create inequity or exclusion, and we advocate for fair treatment and opportunities for all.

Equity: We recognise that people have different needs and experiences, and we commit to approaches that remove barriers and create equitable outcomes.

Diversity: We value and respect our differences and believe that diverse perspectives strengthen organisations and communities.

Inclusion: We foster environments where people feel safe, respected, and able to contribute fully, and we support clients to do the same.

Our Commitments

  • Embedding JEDI into our services by providing advice and solutions that promote fairness, accessibility, and inclusive people practices.
  • Challenging discrimination and bias in all forms and supporting clients to build cultures that do the same.
  • Ensuring accessibility and inclusion in our communication, service delivery, and client relationships.
  • Working with suppliers and partners who demonstrate ethical, inclusive, and socially responsible practices.
  • Continually learning and improving, recognising that JEDI work is ongoing and requires reflection, humility, and action.

Our Accountability

  • JEDI principles are integrated into our governance and decision making.
  • Our commitments are reviewed annually as part of this Better Business Code.
  • We will be transparent about our progress and open about areas where we can improve.
  • As a sole director business, responsibility for upholding these commitments sits with Laura Majewski, the Director of Flexworks HR® Consulting Ltd.

Ethical Conduct Practices

  • We will take steps to prevent violations of the law by speaking up where this is in question.
  • We are dedicated to ethical, fair, and vigorous competition, and will not improperly cooperate or coordinate our activities with our competitors.
  • We will avoid any relationship or activity that has the potential to impair our ability to make objective and fair decisions.
  • All disclosures made in financial reports and public documents will be full, fair, accurate, timely and understandable.
  • We believe in honest marketing, no hard sell, hidden costs, or spam.
  • We often tackle tough decisions and make difficult choices, secure in the knowledge that we are committed to doing the right thing. At times this will mean doing more than simply what the law requires.
  • We screen prospective clients and do not work with those in potentially harmful industries.
  • We respect human rights aimed at securing dignity and equal protection for all, without discrimination. We consider actual and potential human rights impacts in our procurement decisions, and when screening prospective clients.

Social and Environmental Responsibility

  • We are committed to playing an active role in tackling the climate crisis, and you can find our Climate Action Plan here: Climate Action Plan
  • We will share knowledge openly through thought leadership opportunities, and advocate for better working practices.
  • We will only lobby for initiatives that are positive for people and the planet.
  • We do not donate politically, but we do donate at least 1% of yearly revenue to charitable causes in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • We will promote public policy to advance positive social and/or environmental impacts.
  • We seek key stakeholder feedback to ensure their interests are represented in decision making.
  • We consider the actual and potential environmental impacts of our material procurement decisions.

You can use this procedure if you are a client, supplier, or partner.

We hope you won’t ever need to use it, but if you believe there has been a negative impact from our products or services, please contact Laura Majewski at lauramajewski@flexworkshr.com in the first instance providing full details of your concerns and the outcome you are seeking, so that we can try our best to resolve matters.
